Blooms are similiar to asters but have a leafy bract around the bud. Useful in borders or containers, it requires light moist well drained soil.
A true royal purple flowers with a hint of red towards the centre that darkens as it ages. The contrasting white stamens and purple tinged stems add to its appeal. The individual flowers measure 4 inches across and have petals with deeply serrated edges.
